I learned that sometimes the best things are right in front of your face.

Everyone meet John. It’s a long fun story that I will no doubt put in Lessons from the Road – Dating, suffice to say, we have been dating for a while now and we are an official couple. I could not be happier. I feel truly blessed to have this man in my life. We have so much fun together.  Before anyone get’s too alarmed about me settling down from my marvelous wandering lifestyle, John recognizes my wanderlust as being more than just a passing fancy and is very supportive of my endeavors. I will be leaving next week to Thailand for a month without him and he’s being very supportive of my trip. Yes, I will post lots of pictures!!!

The picture in this blog post was taken during a tent camping trip to Acadia National Park in Maine. We were on a hike when we asked a fellow hiker to snap our picture. It’s one of my favorite pictures of the two of us. Hiking is one of the things that we both love and do together. In fact, we are going to start a blog about hiking titled ‘Two Goobers on the Trail’. 🙂

I knew John was an amazing web guy and that is his longtime profession but I did not want to mix personal stuff with business stuff. He watched me struggle with web designer after web designer for the last 5 months and decided to take matters in his own hands about a week and a half ago.

I hope you all enjoy the new look and feel of my new Blog – I absolutely love it!!! I couldn’t be happier.

John of JDevelop Solutions does freelance work, so all of my lady entrepreneur friends out there, not only does he do web design but he will help you with content and he’s great at SEO and both of those services are huge!! He will walk you through the process and makes it easy, he also has lots of great ideas to enhance your site, things you might never have thought about.

This blog site has the ability to do preorders on paperback books for all of the folks that are far far away from me and want autographed copies of the book. It is better for me if you buy from me vs the bookstore. I only end up with 10% of a bookstore purchase. 🙁 I have learned so much from this process, I think I will write a Lessons from the Road – Publishing. If you really want a hardback version please send an email to Sales@lftrus.com and specify that is what you are looking for. The cost for the hardback version will be $27.99 each. I am still working out shipping fees, but if buy from me directly, I will cover the shipping costs from USPS.

For those of you that are close by, I cordially invite you to attend my book release party!! It will be a blast and I plan to have other small business owners and People from the Road that I have met along the way that will be selling thier amazing stuff. There will be musicians, artists, culinary and gastric wonderfulness like jams, and yummy desert delicacies, jewelry etc… Come for dinner and a drink, I will have my book there and be providing entertaining presentations of my life on the road. So don’t spend all of your money on black Friday, come and purchase Christmas gifts for your friends and family and help small business owners all at the same time!!  I will post a separate blog and calendar event with all of the specifics on it at a later date.

Remember, this is a fun book and there will be laugh out loud moments. I feel it’s my duty to provide this disclaimer, if you have recently had an operation or you are drinking a beverage while reading my book, be careful, you don’t want to pop your stitches or have that beverage squirt out of your nose. Unless of course you like that feeling, then by all means go ahead and enjoy!!

Buy a book for someone who needs a pick me up. It will be fun! They will thank you – really they will. 🙂

What happens when an upbeat, sociable, single, empty nester in midlife, outdoor enthusiast, critter gal, science geek, history buff, treasure hunter with an addiction to brown signs and the wanderlust, embarks on a 4 month road trip in her Chevy pickup truck, loaded with a tent, kayak, bicycle, 5 changes of clothes, her laptop, and cell phone, by herself, that essentially turned into a fulltime lifestyle?
