I Learned that I’m Blogging all wrong!

Hello all, I hope this post finds you well.  In preparation for the launch of the book “Lessons from the Road – USA” and my new business, “Courageous Expeditions” (Yes those were shameless plugs)  I’ve been taking classes to learn about social media marketing management and to help me understand what I need to do to be successful in marketing myself. I discovered through a writers workshop that I attended in Chicago recently that a publisher (not the publisher of the book) recommended that everyone read ‘Platform – Get Noticed in a Noisy World’ by Michael Hyatt. I read the book and discovered that evidently I have been blogging all wrong for building followers. Among other corrective actions I need to take, I should post more often and be more consistent in when I post. This is a particular problem for me as I like to post when inspiration hits me and I find something I encounter as being humorous. Then there is the word count, as previously mentioned in a previous blog post, I’m too freakin wordy. Evidently Blog posts should be about 500 words, clearly not my forte. The book also says I should not worry about editing and grammar policing – I guess blogging gets a pass on that, yea me!  So I have decided to step up my blogging game so you should see an increase of blog posts from me at regular intervals. When you are entertained with a post it will be helpful if you share that post with your friends and family on your social media networks.[perfectpullquote align=”right” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]One of the more fun changes I will be instituting on this blog is ‘People from the Road Thursday’. It’s kind of like Wednesday being Prince Spaghetti day but better, [/perfectpullquote]

One of the more fun changes I will be instituting on this blog is ‘People from the Road Thursday’. It’s kind of like Wednesday being Prince Spaghetti day but better, it’ll still make you smile, but you won’t have to worry about the carbs and that bloated feeling you get after stuffing your face and naturally it will be posted on Thursdays. On Thursday, I will be highlighting 1 cool person I’ve met in my travels, how we met and any life lessons, epiphanies etc…  Seeing as I’ve been wandering for about 8 years now and lord knows I yap with anyone, anywhere, anytime, I figure I’ll never run out of great content to entertain you with and maybe be able to share an ah ha moment or two or an ‘I never knew that!’ moment to talk about in my blog. Finally, because I’m pushing my 500 word limit right now and need to limit my wordiness.  I’ll leave you with that I will contact you if I plan on making you a ‘People from the Road’ so be ready with whatever content you want me to highlight about you, your business or your cause.

What do you want to hear about on my posts? I’d like to know.

Crap 500 words (including these words), I will force myself to stop now,  See I can do it!
